How to use the Online Draft Room

If your league is conducting an online draft, click on the link to enter the draft room at the appropriate time. The link will become available 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the draft.

After entering the draft room, your entrance will be announced in the dialogue box in the upper right-hand corner. You will also be identified inside the Who's Online box. All other participants will also be indicated.

The Commissioner, in this case Charley M, has control of the clock. He has signaled the start of the draft via a message entered in the chat area.

Both the team owner who is on the clock and the Commissioner has the ability to make a draft selection. Scroll through the list of available players, highlight your selection and the click Draft Selected Player. In this case, the Commissioner (Charley M) has made a selection for the Gladiators.

Once a player selection has been made, control of the next selection automatically switches to the next team owner in the picking order. In this example, StevePerk of the Hammerheads is picking second. After clicking Draft Selected Player, his selection is noted in both the chat area and the Draft Summary.

Chat between team owners can continue before and after selections.

The Commissioner also has the ability to skip a selection if a team owner's decision takes too long. The Commissioner can click the Skip Current Pick button which allows the next team owner in line to also choose a player. In this case, both the Hammerheads and Gladiators are able to pick simultaneously. At this point, it's first come, first serve.

Notice that in the draft summary the Gladiators were able to choose a player before the Hammersheads because the Commissioner had earlier skipped the Hammerheads pick allowing the Gladiators and Hammerheads to simultaneously be on the clock.

The pre-determined draft order continues even though the Hammerheads still haven't picked a player. The Hammerheads owner is still able to choose, but so is the next team in order. Again, it's first come, first serve.

The Hammerheads finally make a decision, and it's reflected in the dialogue box. Notice also that all picks are now up to date in the draft summary.

The Commissioner has additional features in his draft room that other league members do not. These include the ability to reset the clock, choose a player for any team, and skip a current selection.
